What types of materials do you use?
I primarily use repurposed steel, such as springs, railroad track clips, and farriers’ rasps, but I will also use new-production steels, such as 10-series high carbon steels or O1 tool steel, upon request. For handle materials, I primarily use ethically-sourced bone and antler, as well as walnut, ash, and Osage orange wood harvested from my own homestead, but I will also work with micarta or exotic woods, upon request. My leatherwork is primarily made from vegetable-tanned cowhide that is a by-product of the meat industry, but I am happy to work with ethically-sourced horsehide, upon request.
